Meet Lori King

In my early years, I worked for high-end catering companies in Southeastern Connecticut. Over the years, I gained extensive event experience by doing everything from working as waitstaff in the “front of the house” to Event Chef cooking in “the back of the house.” I learned all the details that go into creating a successful event and steadily honed my skills, including gaining a degree from famed hospitality and culinary arts school, Johnson & Wales University.

In 2008, I opened Two Chefs Catering & Event Planning and the dream began. Two Chefs was an all-inclusive wedding and event planning package, which meant everything — from design, to acquiring vendors, to, of course, creating delicious and exceptional food menus — was done for you. Then, in 2012, I decided that we needed a space closer to the shoreline and we launched The Pantry Cafe, serving homemade and flavor infused breakfast and lunch, while continuing to run Two Chefs Catering and Event Planning.

Understanding the dream

I am all too familiar with having the picture in my mind and needing to see it materialize. I want to help people realize their ideas and concept, with all the glorious details! My goal is creating memorable and smoothly run events. I work with both known and vetted vendors, and love the gathering of all the pieces and people to shape a team.  Together, we work to manifest your dream, into a real, they-won’t-stop-talking-about-it event.
